Emergency Generator Hire for Engineering Solutions Provider

When our Powerhire Sales Manager received a telephone call at 8.45am on Saturday morning from an existing client requesting emergency generator power, our Powerhire team pulled out all the stops and worked together to ensure the job was carried out competently, quickly and to the satisfaction of the client.

The client, an engineering solutions provider based in West Sussex, contacted Powerhire following the discovery of a power supply failure during routine maintenance at one of their sites and urgently needed a temporary generator along with ancillary equipment to get the power back to the site. The client requested a 1250kVA temporary generator, 6000 litre fuel tank, 50 meters of cabling and cable ramps.

Following a conversation with the onsite team confirming the best access to site for artic lorries, the length of cable run and the connections needed, our sales manager contacted the Powerhire operations team to prepare them for urgent requirement of back-up power and to schedule immediate despatch of the equipment, transport and labour.

Our operations team rallied together to ensure that the equipment was checked and ready for dispatch and the labour including cable/generator technicians and lorry drivers were ready to go as soon as instructions to proceed were received by the customer, which came through at 9.45am.

The team loaded up the lorries with the generator and cables and were on the road to Middlesex within the hour.

Once the technicians and equipment arrived on site it was all hands on deck to get the equipment offloaded, positioned and connected as soon as possible to ensure that power was reconnected to the site without delay.

Following the hard work by all involved and to the relief of the client, the generator was functioning and the site back operational by 4.30pm safeguarding the data operations of the building with a fuel delivery arranged for early Monday morning and ongoing fuel management as and when the client required.

The Powerhire team pulled together to get the job completed in good time and left behind a working campus and a very happy client.
