Powerhire have once again provided temporary generator power at a new build fulfilment warehouse for the World’s largest online retailer.

This household name already has 10 sites across the UK. They have committed to creating 2,500 permanent jobs this year, boosting its workforce to 14,500 by the end of 2016.  The Company has invested more than £4.6 billion in the UK economy to build and run its UK business since 2010.

Having worked with them earlier this year installing 3MVA of temporary generator power at one of their other newly built warehouse’s, we were keen to discuss their new temporary generator power requirement at this new site.
The client’s electrical contractor knew the exact power required for two separate locations onsite and we were happy to provide them with a solution until the mains power could be established.

Our logistics team and installation engineers arrived onsite for phase I of the temporary power installation in two arctic lorries with 2 x 500kVA generators, 2 x 8760Ltrs fuel tanks and the relevant cabling for connection.   In liaison with the electrical contractors our engineers installed the temporary generator power system, connecting it straight into the onsite LV transformers.

Because the temporary generators were running unlimited one of our engineers attended site to carry out the necessary servicing on the generator to ensure optimum performance approximately every two weeks

Four weeks later we arrived on site for phase II of the temporary power installation with an additional 2 x 500kVA generators, 2 x 3000ltrs fuel tanks together with the necessary cabling to provide power another location within the new warehouse.  Once again, as previously agreed, we delivered, installed and commissioned the additional temporary power system before leaving site.  Our service engineer continued to service both generator systems every couple of weeks until the mains power went live.
